One of the ways your viewers can make use of their hard earned Loyalty points is by spending them in your Stream Store!
You can tailor redemptions to suit your own channel and these items can basically be anything! Sounds effects, short clips, access codes and pretty much anything you can creatively come up with!
You can even consult your community on what they would like to see in the Stream Store, and generate higher engagement and entertaining value to your channel!
In your StreamElements dashboard, navigate to the 'Loyalty' section on the left side menu and then to 'Stream Store'.
You will see right away that you can filter the view of items based on their type -
And to the right of these views, you have the following options -
OPEN STORE will lead to your public store page. Items will appear there only if their settings allow viewers to redeem them through the store. The public store page will show logged in (to StreamElemets) viewers their current amount of points and the channel's loyalty settings (points distribution).
REDEMPTIONS will show you a list of items previous redeemed in your channel. Depending on your settings, you can approve or decline certain redemptions in that page, search throughout the list for specific redemptions, based on item name, username or item details, and even navigate to the 'Redemption History' table that will allow you to look back at redemptions from a year ago.
CREATE NEW ITEM will prompt you to... create a new item! :DYou can choose between Stream perks, more commonly used for short clips to be played on viewer demand, Sound effects to ruin your most intensive moments in-game thanks to a loyal community member and Access-code list, used to keep a list of pre-purchased access-codes to be redeemed by users.
These item types share some settings and has their own individual settings.
The Item information page (the first page when creating\editing an item) is identical for the three mentioned item types.
Here you choose the item name, description, cost, quantity, global and user cooldowns and category cooldown. If you're not interested to create categories, simply leave the bottom fields empty.
The Item content page (second page) is where the settings for each type changes. The following screenshots will show the default settings per item type:
Stream PerksThe "Preview Asset" is the item's thumbnail that will be displayed in the public store.
The "Alert Asset" is the actual video\webm file you want to display on stream upon redemption, and an audio file that matches in length is required to be uploaded via its designated button ("Upload sound").
The checkboxes are pretty self-explanatory:
- Redeeming this item shows an alert
- Required to be enabled if a visual is to be shown on stream
- Allow user to add a text message to the alert
- Redeemable via website
- This refers to the actual public-facing Stream Store
- Redeemable via extension
- This refers to the StreamElements Twitch Extension in your channel (if it's set up)
- Redeemable via chat
- Most common option, see this article to learn how to set-up
- Send confirmation when redeeming via chat
- The StreamElements bot will literally post in chat when an item is redeemed
- Subscribers only
- Only subs will be able to redeem the item
Lastly, give the item a name to be redeemed with via chat (can be the same name used in Item information page).
Sound EffectsFor Sound Effects some of the options for alerts are not available. The most important asset to note is the sound itself. You can still add a preview asset if you allow redeeming it through the stream store page and there is no need for an alert asset as it shouldn't be shown on stream (since we set the item to be a sound effect). The rest of the settings are the same as explained above.
Without uploading a sound you won't be able to click 'Next'.
Access-code list
For the Access-code list, you will need to enter your codes and separate them by a new line. The settings are relatively the same. You can set an alert that will play upon redemption, choose whether or not codes will be handed out more than once and if you want codes to be dispensed randomly or based on their position in the list. Without entering at least one code, you won't be able to press 'Next'.
The third page of item creation\editing window is the Requirements page -It is the same for all three types, and basically means you can request for additional information to be submitted prior to redemption. This information will show in your 'Redemptions' page after the additional information was provided and the item was redeemed.
In the public StreamElements profile, to which you can navigate by pressing 'Open Store', or alternatively by navigating to streamelements.com/YourUsername, you (and viewers that check your profile\store out) will see the following options on the top right of the screen -
From left to right -
- The overview page shows the Twitch player and chat of your channel
- The tip page will lead to your StreamElements tipping page
- Then, the Stream Store itself
- Your Media Request page showing the current requested songs queue
- The public commands page
- Your leaderboards
- Your chatstats page
- Choose between light\dark modes
