How does running a sponsored YouTube integration with SE work?
-
Once you agree to the sponsorship, we will provide you with everything you need to create your sponsored video and generate audience participation in the campaign!
-
We provide you with a unique campaign link, video overlays, brand assets and a Mercury Dynamic Description to add to your video.
-
You will create & post your usual content with the sponsored assets, promoting the sponsor for the required sponsorship period.
-
Feel free to promote the sponsor using your social media channels, Discord server, or any other legitimate way.
-
Once you have fulfilled all campaign requirements located in your sponsorship dashboard, payment will be automatically processed through our system.
-
-
What affects how much I earn from the campaign?
-
Your base pay is a flat fee determined when you sign-up for the campaign. The amount you earn in bonuses is based on the number of subscriptions/downloads/etc generated using your link. The more participants, the more you earn. Check your campaign brief to learn about viewers’ requirements to participate in the promotion.
-
Your payment is also dependent on whether or not you fulfill all of the requirements of your specific promotion, such as the use of the Mercury Dynamic Description, duration the video has been live on the platform, etc. While these requirements are necessary aspects of the promotion, they will also help boost your performance and help us track your Sponsorship activity.
-
There are some sponsorships that have variations on the goals and requirements mentioned. Please refer to your brief for any additional requirements for your campaign payment.
-
-
When do I get paid?
-
You will receive payment 45 days after the video is posted & once all campaign requirements are complete. Please remember to complete payment set-up- you will not get paid until this is complete.
-
-
How do I get paid?
-
StreamElements processes all payments through an automated invoicing system called Tipalti.
-
Payment setup information is provided in the Campaign Setup on your Sponsorship dashboard, and it is important to carefully follow the instructions to ensure that you receive your payment on time. You will only be asked to complete the payment setup once.
-
At any point after, navigate to your campaign inside the Sponsorships dashboard and click the “Setup” tab to edit your payment details.
-
If you’ve set up the payments successfully, your payment will be sent up to 30 days after completing the campaign.
-

-
How will my community react to my sponsorship?
-
While every channel has its own unique community, the feedback we have received from a diverse range of creators has been incredibly positive. Be honest with your community; they will support you by watching the promotion and participating.
-
Remind your community that even if they’re trying to be helpful, they should only engage with the promotion if they are genuinely interested in the product.
-
-
How long does the sponsorship take & when will I get paid?
-
You will receive payment 45 days after your video is published & you complete 100% of campaign requirements.
-
You will have 45 days to complete a sponsorship after accepting the offer. Here is a breakdown of the campaign timeline:
-
15 days to create & launch your integration (recommended, not required)
-
You can launch your video before day 15 if it is approved!
-
-
30-day attribution window to count conversions for bonus payouts! (required)
-
The video must be published for at least 30 days to track your goals and performance
-
-
-
-
Do I need to prepare unique assets or designs for the sponsorship?
-
No, all the assets are provided for you in your dashboard and/or brief.
-
-
How are new participants determined?
-
Each sponsorship may have a different designation for new participants. For games, players often play up to a specific part of the game, such as to pass the tutorial or progress in levels. For other services, it may be to sign up for a subscription or perform other actions on the service’s platform.
-
Consult your campaign brief for the full details.
-
-
How are you tracking conversions?
-
We provide you with a unique offer code & link. These are built into the Mercury widget that will be placed in your video description in order to track performance. Every person who signs up for a subscription using your link or code will count as a conversion. The number of subscriptions generated will appear in the Dynamic Description and populate in your Mercury Sponsorships dashboard.
-
-
What happens if I don’t hit my goals/or drive campaign participants?
-
Your campaign will automatically count up any new downloads/subscriptions based on the brand you are working with. If you do not drive any participants, you will still receive your base payment so long as you successfully completed all campaign requirements!
-
-
Can I stop the sponsorship before reaching all of my goals?
-
You can stop the sponsorship at any time, but your payment will be based on the completion of your campaign requirements & performance goals. Once you complete the campaign, you will be notified about your payment status.
-
-
Are there limitations for new participants counting towards my goal?
-
Yes, on some sponsorships. Promotions can be limited by the geographic location of the participant or the platform that they’re using (such as a mobile phone vs a PC).
-
Consult your campaign brief to ensure that your promotion of the sponsorship has the proper limitations. Your brief will also inform you if some of your audience is not eligible to participate.
-
-
Do I have to include #ad/#sponsored in my video description?
-
Yes. Your Mercury Dynamic Description already takes care of this! StreamElements and most sponsors operate in the United States; the promotion must fulfill the FTC requirements for sponsorship disclosure, and #ad or #sponsored should be included in your video description and any social posts with a campaign link.
-
-
What happens if my viewers already use the product?
-
For most Sponsorships, participants who already use the product (for example, have downloaded and played the game, or subscribed to the service) will not count towards your goals. They can still contribute by engaging with the rest of the community, sharing tips, helping other viewers through the process, and more.
