7TV Emote Request & Approval System for Chatbot
Feature Request: Built-in 7TV Emote Request & Approval Workflow
I would like to suggest adding native support for managing 7TV emote additions directly through the StreamElements Chatbot.
Proposed Feature:
A configurable 7TV Emote Request system that allows the following workflow:
- A viewer submits a 7TV emote link or ID in chat.
- The bot validates the user’s role (e.g. subscriber, VIP, moderator, etc.).
- The bot sends an approval prompt in chat.
- The broadcaster (or configured approval role) approves or denies the request.
- StreamElements sends the official 7TV API request to add the emote to the channel’s 7TV emote set.
Suggested Configuration Options:
- “Who can request” (Everyone / Subscribers / VIP / Mods / Broadcaster)
- “Who can approve”
- Cooldown settings
- Duplicate emote detection
- Optional request queue
- Built-in 7TV OAuth authentication to avoid manual token handling
Why This Matters:
- Encourages community participation in emote rotation.
- Makes emote management interactive instead of manual.
- Reduces reliance on external bots with elevated permissions.
- Keeps engagement and automation fully inside StreamElements.
- Expands current 7TV integration beyond display and tracking into full management capabilities.
Currently, this requires custom scripting or third-party bots. Native implementation would simplify setup and make it accessible to a much broader audience.
This would be a strong community engagement feature and a meaningful expansion of StreamElements’ 7TV integration.
