Want to keep your viewers engaged & coming back to your stream? The StreamElements Loyalty system can help you do this by unlocking a points perk system, contests and giveaways to help level up interactions with your viewers & increase engagement!
What is Loyalty?
The Loyalty System is a feature within StreamElements that allows streamers to grant viewers points for certain activities, such as watching the stream, subscribing, tipping, and more. These points can then be redeemed for rewards set by the streamer.
Enabling Loyalty
Enabling the Loyalty System in StreamElements is simple:
- Log in to your StreamElements account.
- Click Loyalty > Loyalty settings
- Enable Loyalty by setting the toggle to “Loyalty enabled”
Features of the Loyalty System
The StreamElements Loyalty System offers a range of features to enhance viewer engagement and interaction:
- Points Accumulation: Viewers earn points by watching the stream, following, subscribing, or other actions that can be setup by the streamer.
- Stream Store: Viewers can redeem their accumulated points for rewards set by the streamer. These rewards can be anything, from the ability to send a text-to-speech message to the stream, to physical goods. Redemptions can also be shown as stream alerts.
- Customization: Streamers can customize point earning rates, reward costs, and redemption options according to their own preferences.
- Leaderboards: The Loyalty System includes leaderboards to showcase top viewers based on points earned, fostering healthy competition among viewers.
- Watchtime: Enabling the loyalty system allows viewers to keep track of the time they’ve spent watching the stream. Viewers will accumulate time every 10 minutes, as long as they’re visible in the viewers list. They can check their current watchtime by typing !watchtime in chat (this command is part of the defaults commands).
- Giveaways: Streamers can easily create giveaways and let viewers buy tickets with their points.
- Contests: Contests are basically predictions that viewers can participate in. They can bet their points for a chance of winning even more points.
- Integration with Chatbot: Commands can be given a cost, only letting viewers with a certain amount of points use them.
Loyalty Settings
The loyalty settings page has a few customization options for you.
You can choose the name of your currency, how many points viewers by watching, a multiplier to grant subscribers more points than regular viewers, event bonuses and a way to prevent certain viewers from earning points.
Notes:
- Points will be granted every 10 minutes.
- Viewers will only earn points if they’re visible in the viewers list
- There’s a limit on how many points a viewer can have, which is 2,147,483,648. Going over that number might cause issues so we recommend sticking to lower values to ensure your loyalty system works as expected. On a similar note, points need to be positive values.
FAQs
-
Q: I enabled loyalty but viewers are not earning points
A: Points will only be granted when the stream is live and to viewers that are visible in the viewers list. -
Q: How do I enable watchtime?
A: Watchtime needs the loyalty system to work, you need to enable loyalty for it to start tracking time. -
Q: Why is watchtime inaccurate?
A: Watchtime only starts tracking time from the moment loyalty is enabled. It’s also an estimate and not an accurate representation of how much time viewers are spending watching the stream.
