Managing audio from Media Request (MR) separately in OBS can enhance your streaming experience.
Here’s how you can achieve this based on your setup:
Muting MR for yourself while your stream can hear it:
-
Create a Dedicated Overlay:
- Make a new overlay in your editor and add only the Media Request widget.
-
Add Browser Source in OBS:
- Create a new browser source in OBS, paste the MR widget's URL, and adjust dimensions.
-
Control Audio via OBS:
- Check the "Control audio via OBS" option in the browser source settings.
- Disable Monitoring:
- Navigate to
Edit
>Advanced Audio Properties
in OBS. - Set your MR overlay's audio source to "Monitor Off."
- Navigate to
Note: This setup routes MR audio through your Desktop Audio. Muting your Desktop Audio in OBS will mute MR for you.
Controlling Audio Separately from the Stream
1) Set Up VAC:
Make sure to go over the guide to exclude audio sources for a stream or recording, and the VoiceMeeter Banana guide
2) Run your MR in Chrome
Avoid clicking "Show on stream."
3) Route Audio through VAC
Set Chrome to input and output through VAC.
4) Add VAC Audio Input in OBS
Add the audio output from VAC as a separate audio input in OBS.
Note: Currently, it's not feasible to separate audio for yourself and the stream while also displaying video in OBS. To achieve this, follow the VAC setup and utilize Window Capture on Chrome.
