Chatbot Not Responding
Twitch / Kick
If the chatbot has stopped responding, try these steps in order:
- Part the bot from your channel.
- Log out of the dashboard using this link.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
- Open your browser's developer console, go to the Network tab, and enable "Disable cache."
- Log back in and re-add the bot to your channel.
YouTube
Most YouTube-related chatbot issues can be fixed by removing all permissions and logging back in:
- Go to Google Account Connections and remove StreamElements' access.
- Log back into your account to reconnect it.
If that doesn't help, keep in mind that the YouTube chatbot only works during live and public streams — it won't activate on offline, private, or unlisted streams.
Still having trouble with the chatbot during a live stream? Try these steps:
- Wait about 20–30 minutes after your stream starts — the bot can take a little while to join automatically.
- If it still hasn't joined, log out and back into the StreamElements website.
- Remove and re-add the bot from your StreamElements Dashboard to restore the connection.
Events Not Appearing
Twitch / Kick
- Log out of the dashboard using this link.
- Clear your browser's cache and cookies.
- Open your browser's developer console, go to the Network tab, and enable "Disable cache."
- Log back in.
YouTube
YouTube events will only trigger if both you (the streamer) and the viewer have their accounts set to public. If either account is set to private, the event won't trigger.
Goal Widget Showing Wrong Numbers
The Goal Widget can only track increments — it won't automatically adjust if someone unsubscribes or unfollows. If your numbers look off, you can manually update your progress from your Goals settings.
Alerts Not Showing / No Sound
First, make sure your alerts aren't paused or muted in your Activity Feed.
Next, double-check that your overlay is properly added to OBS Studio. You can follow the setup steps in our SE.Live: The Complete Guide.
Scene Transitions Not Working on Linked Scenes
Make sure each of your scenes has a unique name. If two scenes share the exact same name, the link between them won't work correctly.
SE.Live Crashing or Freezing
If SE.Live keeps crashing or freezing, try the following:
- Uninstall SE.Live.
- Download and install the latest version from our site.
- Install it in a folder outside your OBS program folder — this keeps your regular OBS setup unaffected.
If the issue persists after that, send us your OBS logs at support@streamelements.com. Here's how to find them:
- Press Windows + R on your keyboard.
- In the Run window, type %appdata% and hit Enter.
- Go to the Roaming folder, then open the obs-studio folder.
- Find the logs and crashes folders, and send us the most recent file from each.
Cannot Save Tipping Page Settings
Make sure the "Require login" field is set to either on or off — leaving it empty will cause a save error.

Also double-check that all other fields on the page are filled in — the page won't save if any of them are left blank.
Media Request Georestriction Error
This error usually happens when you don't have a Stream Location selected in your Media Request settings. If you've already set one and are still seeing the error, try clearing your browser's cookies and cache and try again.
