Are you looking to integrate your stream chat into your stream so viewers can watch you in fullscreen mode without missing anything? Don’t worry, the process is simple.
- Head over to your overlays page and add a new overlay
-
Select your desired resolution (we recommend sticking to 1080p)
- Click the blue plus sign to add a new widget and click Stream tools > Your stream’s chat
And that’s it! You’ve already added the chat widget to the overlay but we recommend that you make a few changes so it looks a bit better.
- Resize it to make it a little bit bigger
- Change theme to Custom
- Go to Text settings and pick a font that you like
- Play around with the text color, size or any other text settings that you feel would make it look better.
- You can also add a text shadow so text is easier to read in brighter backgrounds
By default, all emotes are supported. That includes Twitch emotes, including animated ones, and third-party emotes, such as BTTV, FFZ and 7TV. However, unlisted 7TV emotes are not supported and will not be displayed.
To complete the process, save the overlay by clicking the Save button at the top, give it a name and copy the overlay URL by clicking the link icon at the top.
If you need to know how to add the overlay into OBS, head over to our dedicated article.
