How to Unlink a Channel

Unlinking a channel from your account is a straightforward process. Here’s what you need to know before you proceed:

• Relinking Your Channel: You can easily relink the channel at any time by adding it back to your account. All your account settings, such as overlays and chat commands, will remain saved, making it seamless to get back to where you left off.

• Setting Up a New Account: If you prefer, you can also set up a new account using only that channel by signing up directly with it.

Follow these steps to unlink a channel from your main account:

1. Log into your StreamElements account and navigate to the dashboard to view your linked channels.
2. Select the channel you wish to unlink.
   
3. Click the Unlink Account button next to the selected channel.
   
4. A confirmation message will appear. Confirm your action, keeping in mind that this action cannot be undone.
   
   However, you can manually re-add the channel later if needed.

Important!

If you choose to close your account through the Security tab, be aware that all data associated with your StreamElements account, including linked channels, will be permanently deleted. This includes overlays, chatbot commands, and any stored information.

For this reason, it's generally a better idea to unlink a channel rather than delete your account entirely. This way, you can retain your settings and data for future use.
