Introduction to SE.Live

SE.Live is StreamElements add-on for OBS (Open Broadcaster Software) that integrates your stream chat and activity feed (a list of all the viewer interactions that happen during and off-stream) directly into OBS. It's an easy-to-use tool that allows you to go live and manage your stream in real-time.

In the following guide, we will explain everything you need to know in order to start streaming live on YouTube with SE.Live and StreamElements.

Download & Install SE.Live

SE.Live is available both on Mac and Windows.

Hit the button below to download and install it on your computer! 

Setting Up SE.Live

1. Connect Your YouTube Account

After downloading SE.Live connect it with your YouTube account to integrate it with StreamElements

2. Add Audio Source 

1. Click the + icon on the sources menu

2. Select “Audio input capture”

3. Select your audio device and click “OK”

Add Video Capture Device (camera)

1. Click the + icon on the sources menu

2. Select “Video input capture”

3. Select your camera and click “OK”

3. Add Your YouTube Stream Key (required to go live)

1. Click settings (can either be found on the controls tab or under file in the upper menu) and select “Stream”

2. From the service menu select “YouTube/YouTube gaming”

3. Paste your Stream key. You can find it by clicking "Get stream key” next to the stream key field or under https://www.youtube.com/live_dashboard. The stream key is located under “Encoder setup” (never share your stream key!)

Now it's time to add StreamElement livestreaming tools to make your stream a lot more engaging for your audience!

4. Add our YouTube Overlay

• Go to Themes Gallery
• Select the “THEME” tab
• Select the “YOUTUBE THEME” (for optimal CPU performance select the static option)
• Click the “create” button and set the overlay’s name
• Click the “see theme in my overlays” button

Edit the overlay

1. Click the "edit" button on your overlay

2. On the left side menu select "AlertBox"

3. On the left side menu bottom select click on the "settings" tab

4. Deselect all checkboxes except SuperChat

5. Hide the countdown once it's finished-
   • On the left side menu, click on the "eye" icon near the Countdown, Starting soon & Frame layers.

To add an overlay into your SE.Live:

1. Copy the overlay URL (you can find the link inside the overlay and from the themes gallery)

2. Create a new browser source in your SE.Live by clicking the + icon under “Scenes”

3. Paste the URL, set the resolution to 1920 Width and 1080 height, and check “Showdown when source not visible” and click Ok

5. Add Our Chatbot As A Moderator

1. Start onboarding

2. Copy the StreamElements Chatbot URL

3. Open your YouTube dashboard > Settings > Community

4. Paste and approve the StreamElements Chatbot URL

You're all set to go live!
